Trust in SAA is shot completely after it came to light that they entrusted the lives of thousands to a pilot that does not have the required credentials or license. It is understandable when you do not check the documentation of the guy or gal cleaning the offices or making the tea, but REALY….a Pilot?
A senior SAA pilot, William Chandler was forced to step down when it was discovered that he does not possess the proper licensing to fly big aircraft or large distances. This is something he has been doing for more than 20 years under the employment of South African Airways. SAA says it discovered that William Chandler’s pilot license was forged during an investigation into an incident that was reported on a plane he flew.
SAA spokesperson Tladi Tladi says the pilot has been forced to resign from the airline.
